CDR David J. Worrall

David J. Worrall was born in Hibbing, Minnesota, on 28 February, 1923, son of the Arthur D. Worralls. He entered the Navy as an Aviation Cadet in 1942, and upon completion of flight training, was commissioned an Ensign, U.S.N., and designated a Naval Aviator at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, in July, 1944.

His early pilot days were spent with Rescue Squadron SIX, followed by a tour at sea aboard the USS ONSLOW.

In 1955, Lieutenant Worrall reported for duty with VP-l at Whidbey Island, Washington. This was followed by duty with the Royal Air Force Coastal Command in London, 1956-58. Commander Worrall then returned for duty with the Naval Air Training Command at Corpus Christi, Texas. The Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island, was his next assignment, from which he graduated in 1962.

Commander Worrall reported aboard VP-6 in December 1962, to serve as its Executive Officer. He assumed Command of the Squadron on 3 September, 1963.

For his services, Commander Worrall is authorized to wear the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, China Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, and Expert Pistol Medal.

Commander and Mrs. Worrall, the former Marjorie Ruth Hamm of Franklin, Massachusetts, have one daughter Rachel Lynn.
